Game Review - Guitar Hero 3
I know it's been out a while, but I only just got it and anyone thinking of buying it... well, you know what I mean.
Anyhow,
down to business
Graphics: 8/10
There isn't really any great need for great graphics in a game that is mainly hitting notes on a guitar, but the animations in the background are quite good quality. The character design is amusing to say the least, but it always confused me why they put Tom Morello as a character, when he just looks like a sad old man.
Gameplay: 9/10
The gameplay is brilliant because there are so many different songs, and the career mode, along with Co-op career mode, utilize all of these. The only reason I didn't give Gameplay 10 was because it made my pinky very sore having to slide it up and down to reach the orange note in the harder songs.
Controller: 10/10
The controller design is the best part of the game. It fits nicely around your hands, and does not have any sticky out bits. Also, I think the Whammy Bar is a great addition because it makes you feel like a real rock-star when jamming to something like Rock N' Roll All Night.
Xbox Live: 9/10
The Xbox Live has lots of different game types varying from just jamming with the other person, to battle mode, when you have to score points and hit notes to disadvantage the other player, and online Co-op mode, where you play through a story mode featuring funny little cutscenes and stage setups.
Conclusion:
All in all, I would give this game 9/10 because it may have a few faults, but the sheer amusement of being a Rock-Star outweighs them every time!
